Hairspray in Seattle Keith's brother Ken just left after spending a few weeks in Seattle building the set for Hairspray (Ken is the show's Production Carpenter). The show officially opens for tryouts in Seattle on June 14 and will open at the Neil Simon Theater in New York City on August 15. Yes the musical is based on the John Waters film of the same name.
